Firefox 4 Upgrade… It’s Faster, Smoother and Smarter!

Just recently, the new Firefox 4 upgrade was released. I installed this version on my windows based machine, and it seems to run much faster and smoother than the older generations of Firefox.

The memory leaks which seemed to haunt me, and I’m sure many others, are gone. This Firefox 4 Update is a step in the right direction in my book… an overall fantastic upgrade. For many years now, Firefox has been my primary SEO browser of choice, and looking at my Google Analytics, it appears to be others too.

One of the problems I had when I upgraded to Firefox 4 was that the status bar at the bottom of my browser was missing. Mozilla states that some of the status bar items found a new location, and some did not.

There is a Firefox plug-in which will bring back some of the status bar items, and give you more control over the Firefox features… this plug-in is called Status-4-Evar.

This extension also provides “Status Text”, “Progress Meter”, and “Download Status” items. These toolbar items can be customized to your liking, and can be moved anywhere within the Firefox 4 upgrade. The location to control these toolbar behaviors is located in the extension preferences
